GROWTH THROUGH ARTISTIC EXPRESSION
Art has been considered a significant form of communication throughout recorded history. Over the past 27 years Sara's Center has set the standards for the clinical application of Creative Arts Psychotherapies integrated with Functional Skill Training Experiences for people living with special needs of all kinds. Visual Art, Music, Movement and Expressive Activities, coupled with Gardening, Cooking and Money Management remain as some of our core services.

We have greatly expanded our model to include a full range of wellness services which include many cutting edge alternative or complementary technologies. Yoga, Tai' Chi, Aromatherapy, Hypnotherapy, Guided Imagery and vocal Toning are only a few of the offerings people may take advantage of upon entering our turn of the century colonial home, which still exudes the warmth and intimacy it was designed for back in 1976.

FOR OUR SPECIAL NEEDS CLIENTS ...
We have always known that our clients are special people requiring special care. We have seen thousands of "miracles" occur through our unique treatment paradigm <link to ‘pie chart’ in small window>. People tell us all the time about the unusual success stories of their family member or friend that "didn't quite fit in" with the larger, more traditional models of care.

Knowing our successes is one thing...seeing if actual past experiences and numbers added up to our understanding was the next step. In October of 1996 we began to look at our current day program for adults living with severe mental illness. By identifying five performance indicators, we isolated the single most tangible elements germane to the satisfaction of our clients while remaining true to the integrity of our mission and their care.

The Phase I and Phase II studies support our belief in our paradigm and shows that it works. Phase III is under development and will be a much more detailed analysis of the unusual successes we are achieving, each and every day. We are proud to share our results with you and invite your participation in our journey.
